Zen Car Quotes

Zen Car Quotes

“Sometimes it's a little better to travel than arrive”

“He had a tremendous propensity for getting lost when driving. This was largely because of his method of “Zen” navigation, which was simply to find any car that looked as if it knew where it was going and follow it. The results were more often surprising than successful, but he felt it was worth it for the sake of the few occasions when it was both.”

“Life is a journey, fill your tank with joy”

“Home is where your bus is”

“Happiness is the vehicle we travel in, not the destination”

“Aerodynamics are for people who can’t build engines”

“I couldn't find the sports car of my dreams.... So I built it myself”

“We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time”

“It takes 8 460 bolts to assemble an automobile and one nut to scatter it all over the road.”

“Just as your car runs more smoothly and requires less energy to go faster and farther when the wheels are in perfect alignment, you perform better when your thoughts, feelings, emotions, goals, and values are in balance.”

“When you get into your car, shut the door and be there for just half a minute. Breathe, feel the energy inside your body, look around at the sky, the trees. The mind might tell you, 'I don't have time.' But that's the mind talking to you. Even the busiest person has time for 30 seconds of space”

Welcome to DubZen

Welcome to DubZen

Welcome to my new blog.

This blog is to combine the love of VWs (Veedubs, Volkswagens, Dubs etc) and the concept of Zen.

I came up with this concept after re-reading the book "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert M. Pirsig

Then combining my love of VW maintenance (I have owned and own many Bus and Beetles) I came up with the concept.

VeeDub

noun
"It's slang for Volkswagen; as in VW.
Volkswagen Beetle. Not the new Beetle though, only the old one.
A term used for all Volkswagen cars including any and all air cooled beetles, buses or things"

Zen

noun
"a form of Buddhism, originally developed in Japan, that emphasizes that religious knowledge is achieved through emptying the mind of thoughts and giving attention to only one thing, rather than by reading religious writings"

adjective, informal
"Relaxed and not worrying about things that you cannot change."

So what can you expect from this blog.

Well it will hopefully teach you the "Zen and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance"

It won't be a guide to the VW maintenance, it will hopefully provide you with a Zen teachings in order for you to maintain your own VW with a Zen like peace of mind!

Hope you enjoy.
